Dirt Bike Annie is a power pop band that I discovered completely by accident. I had joined eMusic.com (back in the days when it was a $10US a month to download as much as you wanted, you can read about that experience here) and was working hard to maximize my $10 worth of mp3s. One of the bands I grabbed as I worked my way alphabetically through the punk/alternative genre was Dirt Bike Annie. I would have paid $10 for their album alone (although, I got two and a half...). Not An Eagle Scout was the first track I listened to by them, and I was hooked immediately. Give it a listen, and then go check out their "Show Us Your Demons!" album.
Oh, and I don't know who the girl is in the mp3 art there, but she's cute so I used the photo. Not that Jeanie Lee isn't cute, just that I didn't find a shot of all three four band members fast enough for my short attention span.
I promised in my first post here that I'd be subjecting anyone who reads this to pictures of my kids and random samplings of my music. This is me making good on 50% of my campaign promises.
Wolfmother is a 70s throwback band in the same way that The Darkness is, only more serious. None of that tongue in cheek stuff for these guys... they really mean it, and I really love it.
